The Little Lodge

The Little Lodge was my art gallery and creative space located in the Inner Sunset district of San Francisco. It is a place for artists/designers/illustrators/crafters to congregate and share creativity. Brainstorming ideas for free giveaways to our creative friends, I came across a few old Boy Scout badges from my youth. Memories of feeling a sense of accomplishing something with my hands, building something from scratch, learning and at the end being rewarded with a symbol of the hard work. Not only was the symbol tangible, it signified communication and acknowledgement. The patch was graphic design at its purest sense, colorful and communicative, yet simple. What I refer to as - depth within restriction.

We wanted to create a Little Lodge patch, that was somewhere in between the nostalgic Boy Scout patch and a State Park Ranger patch.
